EasyCard everything, and the 7-Eleven that does it all

Buy an EasyCard at any metro station or convenience store; it pays for the Taipei and Kaohsiung metros, buses, trains, YouBike rentals, and purchases in shops. The 7-Eleven and FamilyMart stores are the country's infrastructure: ATMs that take foreign cards, train and concert ticket machines, package pickup, bill payment, and hot food around the clock. English signage is good in Taipei and thinner elsewhere, but people go out of their way to help.
