The Dead Sea rules, and the summer heat in the valleys

In the Dead Sea, don't shave the day before, keep the water out of your eyes and mouth (it burns and is dangerous to swallow), float on your back and don't try to swim face-down, and shower afterward; the public beach at Amman Beach is the cheap option, the hotels' day passes are the comfortable one. From June to September, the Dead Sea and Wadi Rum reach 40 °C and beyond; Petra is better in spring and autumn, and Amman's altitude keeps it bearable.
