Dubai: the metro's Gold class and women's cars, and the Nol card

Dubai's metro is clean, cheap, and driverless, with a Gold cabin for a higher fare and a women-and-children cabin at one end; riding in the wrong one earns a fine. Buy a Nol card at any station; it also works on buses, trams, and the abra boats across the Creek (a one-dirham ride that's the city's oldest). Taxis are plentiful and metered; Careem and Uber work. Walking between neighborhoods in summer isn't realistic; the heat is dangerous by noon.
