Coffee at the bar costs less than coffee at the table

In an Italian bar, a coffee drunk standing at the counter is cheap; the same cup served at a table, especially on a famous piazza, can cost several times more, because you're paying for the seat. Order and pay at the register first in busier places, then show the receipt at the counter. Cappuccino is a morning drink; after lunch, locals switch to espresso. And "latte" alone gets you a glass of milk.
