Phnom Penh: bag snatching from tuk-tuks, and visiting the memorials

Bag snatching by motorbike is the city's main crime; keep bags on the side away from the road and hold them inside tuk-tuks, and don't walk with a phone in hand along busy roads. The Tuol Sleng prison museum and the Choeung Ek killing fields are essential and devastating; the audio guides are excellent, and a respectful, quiet visit is expected. Use the PassApp or Grab apps for tuk-tuks with fixed fares. The riverside is pleasant at sunset.
