Free museum Sundays, and the miradouros

Portugal's national museums and monuments are free on Sundays and holidays until 2 p.m. for residents, and some extend it to everyone; the city museums in Lisbon are free on Sunday mornings. Lisbon's best views cost nothing: the miradouros of Santa Catarina, Senhora do Monte, and Graça are terraces with kiosks selling cheap drinks at sunset. Porto's Jardins do Palácio de Cristal give the river panorama for free.
