Acropolis: the timed slot, and the first hour of the day

The Acropolis now limits daily visitors with timed-entry tickets, and in summer the morning slots sell out days ahead; book on the official Hellenic Heritage site, not a reseller. The first slot at 8 a.m. is cooler and emptier, and the marble is brutally hot and bright by noon. A combined ticket covers the Ancient Agora, Kerameikos, and other sites over several days and costs little more than the Acropolis alone.
