Trains across the country are cheap, and three companies compete

Czech Railways, RegioJet, and Leo Express all run Prague–Brno and Prague–Ostrava, which keeps prices low; RegioJet's yellow trains and buses are comfortable and bookable online with free coffee on board. Český Krumlov and Kutná Hora are easy day trips by train or RegioJet bus. Prague's transit runs on time-based tickets (30 or 90 minutes, or 24/72 hours) valid on metro, trams, and buses; validate once on first use.
