Temple dress and the feet rule

Temples require covered shoulders and knees for everyone, and the strict ones (the Grand Palace in Bangkok) turn people away in leggings or ripped jeans; carry a sarong or light pants. Take your shoes off before entering any building with a Buddha image, never point your feet at an image or a person, and don't climb on anything for a photo. Women shouldn't touch monks. Images of the royal family are treated with deep respect; keep comments to yourself.
