Ruin bars are great; the drink prices and the "friendly girls" are not

Szimpla Kert and the other ruin bars in the old Jewish quarter are worth an evening, with prices that rise after dark. The quarter has a known scam: friendly women invite men to a nearby bar, and the bill arrives at several hundred euros with security at the door. Decline invitations to places you didn't choose. Taxis should be ordered by app (Bolt) or from the yellow official cabs; refuse the ones that approach you at the station.
