Warsaw: the Old Town is rebuilt, and the real city is elsewhere

Warsaw's Old Town was flattened in 1944 and rebuilt brick by brick; it's lovely and worth a morning, but it isn't where Warsaw lives. The Praga district across the river, the Vistula boulevards in summer, the Powiśle neighborhood, and the Hala Koszyki food hall show the modern city. The Palace of Culture's observation deck gives the view. Taxis from the airport should be from the official rank or an app; the SKM train and bus 175 are cheap alternatives.
