Money: cards now give a fair rate, but check before you trust the ATM

Argentina's currency rules have changed repeatedly. Foreign cards now generally get a competitive exchange rate, which removed most of the old reasons to carry cash dollars, but ATM withdrawals have low limits and high fees. Bring some US dollars in clean notes as a backup; Western Union transfers are a reliable way to get pesos at a good rate. Prices change fast with inflation, so printed menus and online figures may be out of date.
