The Vienna State Opera sells standing-room tickets for a few euros, now online in advance as well as at the box office; you'll see the same production people pay hundreds for. Dress neatly and bring a scarf to tie on the rail to mark your spot. On Saturday mornings, the Naschmarkt's flea market spreads out at its western end, and the market's food stalls are good for a cheap lunch of Austrian, Turkish, and Levantine food.
